Lancaster Tractor has been acquired by Messick Equipment Inc.
Elizabethtown, PA (January 3, 2012) – After 33-years of business Lancaster Tractor has become part of Messick's Equipment Dealerships.
What's happening at Lancaster Tractor?
Lancaster Tractors prior ownership, Larry Groff, had reached retirement and approached Messick's about taking the reigns. The two companies have sold the same products for years while being only 8 miles away from each other. Over the years Messicks followed Ford / New Holland into Agriculture while Lancaster Tractor stayed with Fords industrial tractor roots creating two different groups of customers. The two companies compliment each other nicely. Lancaster Tractor bringing experience in the tough to crack government and municipal markets while Messicks served Ag, Construction and Landscape customers.
What will change.
Initially very little will be changing, you'll still see the same people in parts, sales and service. Messicks will be starting daily parts picks and transfers putting $7,000,000 of parts inventory within reach. Used equipment inventories will be shared providing over $3,000,000 in used equipment to be matched with customers. Rohrerstown Rd is a highly trafficked location that's a good fit for the new Stihl product line, as well as equipment rental.
